Description: |
This Request for Proposals (the “RFP”) is an invitation by The Corporation of the Town of The Blue Mountains (the “Town”) to prospective proponents to submit proposals for the Provision of Cemetery Landscape Architecture Services, as further described in Section A of the RFP Particulars (Appendix B) (the “Deliverables”). The Town is seeking a qualified firm to undertake an innovative cemetery expansion project incorporating Concept B, known as the Arc Concept, which emphasizes natural burial methods and conform with the requirements of the Funeral, Burial, Cremation Services Act to the satisfaction of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario. This project aims to enhance the existing cemetery lands by integrating sustainable practices and community-centered designs in the expansion area identified for natural burial within the approved Cemetery Master Plan. The Town of The Blue Mountains is Canada’s second fastest growing municipality and serves as home to over 9,300 full-time residents, with an extensive part-time and seasonal population. Recognized as Ontario’s true four-season tourism and recreation destination, The Blue Mountains welcomes an additional 2.5 million visitors annually and offers a high-quality lifestyle that caters to families looking to build a solid foundation, adventurers looking to go off the beaten path and relaxation seekers taking in and experiencing the very best the area has to offer. Built on a strong foundation of agriculture and tourism, the success of the local economy has been driven largely by innovation and entrepreneurship across the sectors of agriculture, tourism, construction, small business and hospitality and service. |
